January 2010

Our experts are in tune with the issues that matter most, and our newsletters, blogs, and videos are a great way to exchange information with us. We'll give you our take, and we appreciate your feedback and commentary in exchange. Here are several "top of the Mind" topics for our first online newsletter, and we look forward to seeing many of you at CES 2010 in Las Vegas this month!

Ace is working with Teradici on PC-over-IP...

The PC-over-IP protocol compresses, encrypts and encodes the entire computing experience at the data center and transmits it 'pixels only' across a standard IP network to stateless PCoIP-enabled desktop devices. PC-over-IP technology allows enterprise PCs and workstations to be centrally managed in a data center while providing high resolution, full frame rate 3D graphics and HD media, with full USB peripheral interoperability, locally over a LAN or remotely over a high-latency WAN. PC-over-IP is an innovative display protocol technology that enables the practical consolidation of all IT resources into a data center, eliminates the need for desktop workstations, PCs and thin clients, and delivers an uncompromised user experience to each desk, anywhere, without incurring the security risks associated with transmitting data across a network or having data reside in remote PCs. PC-over-IP technology is delivered in both hardware and software implementations. A wide array of PCoIP-enabled devices are available from third party vendors, including integrated displays, desktop portals and server plug-ins. PC-over-IP technology resolves the challenges of provisioning, managing, maintaining and securing enterprise desktops, offering a true, uncompromised computing experience for the end-user, while supporting the efficiency and security of centralized computing. TCO is significantly reduced.

Are you a 3D User looking for powerful workstations?

Ace has delivered LogiCAD workstations that really deliver for multiple clients. In coordination with ISV's like Bunkspeed, Ace has fine tuned our solutions to meet the challenging needs of engineers, animators, and modelers. If you use SolidWorks, Pro/ENGINEER, CATIA, AutoCAD, or Autodesk 3ds Max (all product names shown are trademarked by their respective companies), you should be talking to Ace about LogiCAD solutions. Ace builds systems that provide exceptional performance (both single and dual CPU), as well as offering up to three graphic cards and other GPU solutions.

Need a Netbook?

Let's face it, Netbooks are fun! Ace Engineers continue to look for the latest technology available and bring it to you! How about a 4-cell battery that produces 4800mAh of power (more than most 6-cell batteries!). Better solutions mean more time for you to work without being "plugged in", and less weight doesn't hurt either! Talk to us about the latest solutions. More importantly, think about your needs when evaluating a Netbook. If you can accept a solution with 1GB of memory, your acquisition cost (including Microsoft Windows XP/Vista/7) could potentially be a lot lower than you think!
